It was a cold, windy day when Tawnyhawk walked the edge of the Flame Pack's forest. The sky was gray and cloudy, the color of ash. There was a slight drizzle, and the drops stung as their coldness dripped onto the she-wolf's fur. Tawnyhawk shook her clay-colored pelt a few times to shake off excess water. This fall was becoming like winter very quick. It wouldn't be much longer until this rain became snow. Snow wasn't one of Tawnyhawk's favorite things. It was cold and wet and clung to your fur. Her paw pads also froze in the frigid temperatures associated with it. Although, she could sometimes lap up some snow for hydration. Anyway, it wasn't snowing yet, and she had more important things to worry about. Like defending territory.
Tawnyhawk trotted along the very border of their forest, smelling the different scents around her. Scents of other animals - squirrels, birds, and other small creatures - surrounded her. The strongest, most familiar smell was of her packmates' own scent markers on the trees and bushes. Tawnyhawk stopped near a small shrub and sniffed. An older male wolf had marked this spot a few weeks back, she could tell. Too long ago. The she-wolf quickly renewed the scent with her own, identifying this as Flame Pack territory. Another, weaker scent of Ice Pack wolves was evident coming from the northern forest near her. Sometimes she wondered what she'd do if an enemy wolf came through. Would she have to fight? She'd definitely lose. Not enough confidence in herself. But oh well, what could she do? The tawny-pelted wolf moved on, refreshing her pack's markers and watching for any danger.

All diverse scents filled the dense air that lingered through the trees. But the central one to canines was their packs. To the other creatures, the clean smell of fresh rain and foliage that grew at the bases of the trees. The male’s duties were to the Icepack, but why not venture to the edge? Owl seemed pretty conservative, but he was also arrogant. Not the one to pick fights, but the one to know he was better than everyone else. He let his damp nose scout the ground for colliding scents. Mostly from his pack members but he remembered the other smells too. He enjoyed the rain, it seemed to clean the sins from this earth. Letting his paws quietly walk on a high traffic path, his gray legs brushed the wet grasses. Golden eyes peered around, matching the sounds that entered his auds.
Suddenly there was a smell he didn’t know. His movements stopped and smelled a recently she-wolf scent. Pulling his skull up in the wafting scent of her. Feeling no threat he could sense that he wasn’t alone now. Owl crept down and followed the scent down. Moving silently through the bushes and rocks, the sight of the she-wolf was in his vision. She was recovering her packs markers. A sly smile creased into his muzzle. His iron skin hidden like a coward, he exposed himself. Hello there. What do we have here? Owl acted as if she was trespassing but the true trespasser was himself. Holding his skull up he seemed larger. Owl watched her carefully. This wasn’t the smartest thing to do, but hell it was entertainment.

As Tawnyhawk padded through the rain, her fur accumulated more water. She shook it off, sending droplets flying through the air. She marked the base of a tree, then stopped. Something didn't smell right. The Ice Pack scent grew stronger. Stronger still, until it seemed to surround her. It seemed to be a male wolf, which made her cringe. She hated confronting wolves, especially larger males. They could kill her easily, with her weak body. But what if it was an attractive wolf? She'd be too embarressed to speak. Tawnyhawk kept worrying herself until the scent was unbearbale. Too late.
The foreign wolf approached her, asking her a question. She didn't respond right away hesitating. Oh no, what do I do? She waited a bit, then responded, "I am Tawnyhawk, from the Flame Pack... Uh...what are you doing here? She tried to sound as brave as possible. Tawnyhawk had such little confidence. She knew she had strength inside her, she just couldn't reach it. At this moment, she was deathly scared. An alien wolf questioning who she was, when he was in her territory? But what could she do now? Defend her pack's land? She doubted it.

Golden eyes watched the terror just pour from the new wolf. She was cute, and adorable for being so insecure. He kept his smile, but his features softened up. I am Tawnyhawk, from the Flame Pack... Uh...what are you doing here?” He let his dark colours auds listen to her shaky voice. He could pick up the hints of bravery in her words, but it just wasn’t convincing. Plopping his hind right onto the ground he shook his skull, letting any excess water droplets disperse. Titlting his head a playful kind of way. ”Dear, you’re not threat at all. Owl was rarely the one to even be talking to an ”enemy”? In his head, they weren’t enemies until on crosses the other.
The canine watched her curiously. He didn’t sit in that spot for very long, but he respected her space. Already knowing that she was unsure about his presence in the first place, he made sure his next few words and actions weren’t too callous or immediate. ”And don’t worry… I didn’t come to take your territory, or to cause you any trouble, Tawnyhawk.”
He spoke softly to her. Owl let her name roll off his tongue easily. He thought about how to approach her question. He really had no business her, but he didn’t want to look like a fool. Or a jerk for thinking he tracked her down to just mess with her… ”If you should know...” He didn’t know how to finish this but he just let a smile crease into his lips. ”I’m Owl, Ice Pack.” He looked like a fool. Parts of the sun rays penetrated the leaves and pines from the lofty trees that surrounded them. It made his smoky coloured pelt shine with his onyx and ashen hairs. Owl was being surprising talkative and open to this alien she-wolf. This was new to him.[/blockquote] WORDS:312

Tawnyhawk stood in her spot, her muscles stiff. She couldn't move, and was beginning to feel hot under her fur. Her tail slightly rose up behind her, as she was starting to feel a little angry. This wolf was an intruder, and he seemed so calm about it. And he also seemed to be making a fool out of Tawnyhawk, which she hated. She wasn't a threat, he thought? How could he just say right to her face, in her territory?! The she-wolf flinched as he said this. It hurt her confidence even more so.
He even went on to introduce himself. Owl, from Ice Pack. Like she couldn't see him crossing the border in the first place. Tawnyhawk's lips parted in the beginnings of a snarl, but she didn't make any noise. She was too afraid. This wolf could easily take her down, as she was nothing more than skin and bones. "H-how dare you come into our territory, then t-taunt me like this?" Her words were shaky, hesitant. No confidence in herself at all. But she tried her best.
The drizzling rain was beginning to fade away, letting some rays of sun make their way between the branches. As the weak sun shone on Owl's pelt, it was illuminated, glowing like a piece of charcoal. Tawnyhawk just then noticed he was not a bad-looking creature, with his smoky fur. It in fact was her favorite color. But she wouldn't let this get in her way. She needed to defend her pack's lands. She wouldn't let herself fall for anybody's tricks again.

Owl raised his skull upward; he let his attention drop from the she-wolf to the climate. The rain slightly letting off, it had done its job in cleansing the earth. Soon his eyes peered back down to Tawnyhawk. Watching the signs, her tail raising with a snarl… maybe? Not quite. Owl might be a gentleman, in some cases, he was very blunt. Telling how it is and she wasn’t a treat. Maybe to a squirrel, but he did have size and valor on his side. Not intending on hurting her feelings, he could only just let a faint smile crease to his lips.
”Tawnyhawk, I’m not taunting you. Well I don’t believe I am.” Was this all he could utter. It seemed to be the same thing he was saying over and over. What else was he to say, ”oh! I’ll be on my way then.” Not exactly. Owl stood in an awkward silence. He could still hear the shakiness in her words though. Why was that so drawing to him? Being a coward? No, she wasn’t be a coward, maybe it was the innocence she beheld. Owl let the silence go on for long enough. ”What makes me so different than if I was from your pack? Just my title? Honestly, he wasn’t sure where he was going at here.
”I haven’t done anything to you.” This was true. Was a title of being in a different pack such the big picture that it made everyone believe that there was only one kind of canine you could trust? Too many question started to fog his mind. Shaking his head he sneered down to Tawnyhawk. His attitude started to change in this whole thing. He did have an anger, it was usually hidden, this was the reason why he never jawed with others much. Scrunching his nose his bold golden eyes stared intently at the petite she-wolf. The tawny-pelted she-wolf stood silent, her muscles quivering in the cold. Or was it from her fear? She was getting pretty ticked off at this intruder. He acted way to calm and smooth in this situation. And Tawnyhawk seemed so nervous and indecisive. She took a breath, and sighed, trying to relax herself. So far this wolf wasn't doing anything along the lines of attacking, so there was no need for her to feel so threatened. Adding to her anxiety was the fact that Tawnyhawk was becoming somewhat attracted to this wolf. He acted strange, but she liked it. But she didn't want it to show.
Trying her best to fluffy up her chest fur, the she-wolf growled, "You know how we wolves work. This is Flame pack territory, and you're an Ice wolf. Now get off!" Tawnyhawk sounded surprisingly stern in this last speech. She couldn't help but grin a little, showing some of her white teeth. True, Owl didn't do anything to her, but he needed to get away from her land. She actually was starting to fear the fact that one of her allies might come to her aid and chase this wolf off. She was beginning to enjoy arguing with him. She liked having this attention from some other creature. It was a rare occasion.

Pit awoke from a mid day nap and shook the rain of his fur and decide to walk. Walking threw the woods pit smelled many scents but the one he focused on the most. Was the scent of the lead female. So pit decided to follow that scent but another scent hit him a male and not just any male a ice pack member so pit ran towards the smell at full speed and smelled they were by each other. By the time pit got there he slid to a stop by tawnyhawk and across from her was a ice pack member.
Pit had looked at tawnyhawk growling at the ice pack member so I decided to step in front of her and get ready to fight the male.
Pit spoke with a angered voice( why are you in flame pack territory outsider and why do you come here knowing that you might die for trespassing)

All these different emotions hit Owl at once. He was feeling fury, that had been shot down by the sternness of her voice. Watching this she-wolf calm herself down made him realize what he uttered was a mistake. It’s not that they were enemies, it was territory. Her coat caught his eye for a second. Was he growing an affection for this female?
”Why are you in flame pack territory outsider and why do you come here knowing that you might die for trespassing?” From the dimness behind Tawnyhawk his golden pools watched the chocolate coloured male appear. Seeing this pup protect her, made him realize, he really shouldn’t bother him with his company. But he couldn’t leave just yet.
”I was going to enjoy Tawnyhawk’s company for a bit longer, but pup, make sure you bite of what you can chew!” Owl started to snarl. He wouldn’t do anything to hurt this new friend, perhaps, he acquired. But this arrogant little pup, maybe. Still to him, his presence should yield no attention, but it has grown to it. Part of him just wanted to rip the kid’s skull off, but the other just walk away and hope to enjoy the sight of Tawnyhawk again.
He did start to grow affections for one he barely knew. Shaking his iron pelt, lowering his skull he let his ivories bear in what sun was left shining through the tall evergreens. He wasn’t going to attack, unless this pup decided to make a smartass remark. Letting his eyes start to cloud with a future look at what might happen if a fight did decide to start; if there was blood to be shown. Owl started to worry for what might happen, but he didn’t let his stance change. WORDS: 295 COMMENTS: Ahh! Museless : P

Suddenly, another Flame wolf appeared. It was Pit, one of the males. He growled an angry question at Owl. Tawnyhawk moaned a little, wishing he wouldn't have shown up. He totally ruined her chance to talk to this mysterious intruder. She was growing fond of this strange wolf, and wanted to find out more about him. Quickly, she tried to decide how to get rid of Pit. Could she try to make it seem like she had it all under control? It was a long shot, but that was the best option.
Tawnyhawk lowered herself a bit, becoming more relaxed. "Pit, I have everything here under control. No need to worry. Go back to what you were doing." Her voice was quiet again, and she spoke fast. The other wolf probably didn't even hear her. Her gaze shifted to Owl. His dark coat looked shiny and full of luster in the partial sunlight. A smile appeared on her face, she couldn't help it.
Tawnyhawk wanted to meet this wolf again, and hoped she would.

When tawnyhawk turned around and was calm she said everything was under control so pit decided. To leave so pit walked by tawnyhawk and eye the male as to give him a warning to what will happen if he hurts her or hears anything . So as pit walked by the she wolf he just glared to the male as if it was me and him we would clash no matter what. So pit walked back the way he came and a rabbit caught his eye so pit ran full speed at it. Before the rabbit could even attempt to turn and see the wolf on him pit was on top of it tearing into it but as he did he kept his ears perked for any sound of the she wolf that would make him snap. So pit licked the blood off his jaws and picked the rabbit up and carried it under a tree to finish eating what he started.

The fur along his back had been raised from the “excitement” going on. His golden eyes watched the two consult quietly and quickly. His ear trying to pick up what Tawnyhawk had spoken, but his attention was brought back down to the pup. Watching the auburn pup glare at him caused for Owl to let a slight chuckle out. Then with the short attention span run after a victim. The iron coated male turned back to her. There was a small smile along her maw. This threw him off. She was just yelling at me too get off her territory… commanded her own to leave… and now smiling? He question himself. Her smile, so delightful and kind; he couldn’t help himself. A smile appeared not long after he realized hers.
”Tawnyhawk…” His golden eye locked on the female’s as he hushed her name under his breath. He didn't know what to say, confused to her actions to begin with. What was he to do? He really started to find this stranger attractive and oddly unique. He, himself was a bit of an odd ball. Almost bipolar, but that was just slightly. Very courageous, and intelligent. Though… he couldn’t figure out this lovely she-wolf.

A cold wind blew, ruffling the she-wolf's fur. The muscles along her back twitched as she stood with her head lowered, staring at the wolf in front of her. She took in all his scents and his appearance; his fur, his eyes, his frame. He was almost perfect. Tawnyhawk shivered. What should she say next? Something clever, but quick. And then she'd leave.
After what seemed like hours, Tawnyhawk spoke. She thought her words carefully before saying, "Owl... You're a strange wolf..." The female let out a long sigh. Her eyes moved to the ground, then back at Owl again, this time with some kind of passion in them. "But I think I, er, I like you."
Realizing what she just said, she turned her head away swiftly. Her tail curled under her legs and her ears flattened against her head. A huge wave of embarrassment washed over her. This guy was a loner, and she needed to stay faithful to her own pack. But, what if he decided to join with them? It was a long shot, maybe she could sometime convince him to do so.
